Ducks in a Row

Boy is at school.

Man is at office.

I am alone in Wichita.

two ducks

A day to inhale. Exhale.

Put those ducks in a row.

a chorus line

Is this your first day back to reality too?

How will you spend it? This one and tomorrow and the one after that, assuming you’re given it to spend?

on your mark

Deep breaths.

Back to basics.

Ducks in a row.

hero ducks

Inhale. Exhale.

One moment at a time.

Make it count. As best you can, make it count.

bravery and liberty

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. Colossians 3:23 NIV

Can’t think of a better way to start it up than with Sweet Baby James. Make it count, James Taylor, with Sun on Moon. Pretty as homemade sin.

  1. I saw your post and just knew you were thinking that JT song. It is one of my all time favs of his and was best in live concert. Line ’em up baby. Line ’em up.

    1. Panera saves the day! You can always count on good old STL Bread Co for delectable sweets and free wi-fi, and they have a nice one here not to far from T’s school. I don’t drink coffee, but hot chocolate will do fine :)

  2. It’s days more before I step into an entirely new reality. I’m itching to get on with it! The ducks are not near any sort of alignment. Soon! Soon!

What are you thinking of making with this fresh start of yours, now that the ducks are in a row?

    1. Much of it still remains a mystery. I have some cosmetic things to handle in the house and a little more unpacking. Joined the Y last week (the Ys are really nice here) with plans to resume yoga and pilates.

Beyond that, I have oodles of ideas. Etsy, Twitter, Tumblr and (you’ll like this one) SLR cameras intrigue me. Not sure where to begin. My sweet husband negotiated a career consultation for me as part of his relocation deal. Hoping it will help me get this flock of impulses moving in the right direction on the ground in Wichit-awesome, as the natives here call it!

  3. i used to do some great shows with those ducks at bathtime. with a much younger Theo. I miss those days. And Aimee, you may be by yourself, but you are never alone. You’ve reminded me of that. <3
