Merry Christmas from everyday epistle

snowy Christmas
first snow of winter, 12.20.12

He came into the very world He created, but the world didn’t recognize Him. He came to His own people, and even they rejected Him. But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

So the Word became human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. John 1:10-14 NLT

Merry Christmas from everyday epistle

as seen at pottery barn

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV

Before the Flurry

Today is my 16th wedding anniversary. And my son’s last day of school before Christmas break. And packing day for our move to Kansas.

Before we get swept up in this flurry of activity, my family and I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas.

Take courage. Take heart. That is my greeting for you.

When in the hustle and bustle of the holidays you need a shot of brave, sit down. Relax. Read.

Better yet, try the Bible. It’s been known to instill beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, praise for despair. In it is true peace on earth—peace we can have with God through Christ.

Thank you for reading. I’m humbled and honored that you do.

God willing, I’ll see you on the other side of the New Year with a bevy of new posts. You know there’s always another story to tell.

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. John 1:14 NIV
